Meet The Doctor

Dr. Dinakar Golla

 Dr. Dinakar Golla is a native Pittsburgher who is the founder of meshless hernia center.    He is a Board Certified Surgeon with extensive experience in hernia repair.  He has authored numerous articles, lectured over a 100 times around the country and the world on unique cutting edge techniques in surgery and has trained a number of surgeons who have traveled to watch and learn from his expertise. His ability to listen to his patients desires and to honestly communicate what is possible has garnered him the praise and admiration of his patient population.  He works with other surgeons throughout the region to deliver the best possible repair for his patients who have complex hernias.

Dr. Golla graduated summa cum laude and phi beta cappa from Boston University School of Arts and Sciences. Then Dr. Golla graduated magna cum laude from the prestigious Boston University School of Medicine.  He won the Alumni Association Award, which is given to those students whose efforts raise the Boston University Medical School community, as well as the Dean Eleanor Tyler Memorial Award, which is given to the top medical graduate from the Seven Year Medical Program.  In addition, he won the Merck Manual Award, which is given to the top three students of each medical school class.  He is also a member of the AOA, a national medical school honor society.

He did his General Surgery and then a Fellowship in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center.  He has been a Clinical Assistant Professor of Plastic Surgery at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center after training before he founded the Pittsburgh Hernia Center to bring cutting edge surgical techniques more broadly to his patients.

Dr. Golla is a member of the Pittsburgh Plastic Surgery Society, American Society of Plastic Surgeons, the American Medical Society, the American College of Surgeons, and the Pennsylvania Medical Society.  He is certified for Physician Leadership and Business Administration.

He lives in Fox Chapel with his lovely wife Dr. Suman Golla and there three children Arjun, Milan and Laila.
